As mentioned in my last post I have recently moved house. One major hurdle for this little back duck is now I only have dial-up internet access. Moving from 8Mbit to 56Kbit sucks, no really it is horrible. Email works, the web works but is annoyingly slow, I haven’t even thought about internet radio, torrents, etc. The absolute worst though is that I can no longer easily listen to and watch Countdown with Keith Olbermann.

Bush is doing everything in his power to come across as a complete corrupt prat and I can’t see any of it. Please Telstra find another port in that dslam.

Well, I am starting to get my life back again after a fairly hectic 6 months or so. The bottom line and result of all this chaos is I now live alone in a spectacular part of the world- Aldinga Beach to be precise.

I can now take a one minute walk and see dolphins rounding up schools of Australian Salmon. Not a bad way to start the day, certainly an excellent stress releaser for me.

I no longer suffer from anxiety, am losing weight and am looking forward to the future. I miss my family unbelievably, but I am sure they will all benefit from me being a better Dad/ friend.

I have only just started on this journey, however it all looks promising so far. Pretty good practice for my upcoming mid-life crisis anyway :)

If you know me and live in SA ask for my details and pop over some time.

Inept GOP’ers sent lots of emails to georgewbush.org instead of georgewbush.com. The .org site is anti-Bush and has published the emails complete with attachments such as the rapidly becoming infamous “caging lists” spreadsheets. There is some very interesting reading in these email and they will do a great deal of damage in the right hands. Rove for one has some explaining to do.

Hmmm, this is interesting and may actually make some changes. It seems that the loony Australian government’s propaganda machine has  now decided to become carbon neutral. OK they will do it in dodgy ways, but at least the issue is being acknowledged. How are Little Johny and his environmental vandal friends going to say that there isn’t a problem when Murdoch and Co are facing it head on.

Looks like timelady has tagged me for my Rage type music list. The first thing I should do is point out that she has actually missed one of her favourites, and let that twist her mind a little. Well here is my current list, but I will forget some:

  1. Nick Cave- Ship Song
  2. Nick Cave- Where The Wild Roses Grow (with Kylie Minogue)
  3. Greenday- When September Ends- Great song, great film clip and great message
  4. Jewel- Most songs before the “Intuition” WTF stage, but lets say “Hands”
  5. The Waifs-Lighthouse
  6. Ani DiFranco-Fuel
  7. Fiona Apple-Criminal -Well I am a guy, and it is Fiona in a bath and …
  8. Cold Chisel-My Baby
  9. REM- Orange Crush- Why wasn’t this song on the best of album?
  10. Doe-Re-Mi- Man Overboard- Favourite song of all time
  11. Johnny Cash- Hurt- Life changing film clip
  12. PJ Harvey-Down By The Water
  13. The Angels-Marseilles
  14. ACDC-You Shook Me All Night Long- Simply because I can’t listen to this song without turning it up and singing along :)
  15. Portishead- Sour Times
  16. Peaches- Kick It (with Iggy Pop)
  17. Machine Gun Fellatio- Unsent Letter- Watch the film clip one day
  18. Sheryl Crow- Maybe Angels
  19. Alanis Morissette- Uninvited- pretty close to perfect
  20. Bob Dylan- Subterranean Homesick Blues

This was quite difficult and I left out some huge favourites like B52’s, Sheryl Crow, No Doubt, Gondwanaland, Garbage, Goana, Challice, Live, Dianna Anaid … However keeping with the theme, here are 20 :)

I really should spend some more time on this list, but not tonight. So here it is. Oh damn, i forgot Kraftwerk- Pocket Calculator, but played it a lot today and the kids love it :)

David Hicks may be gagged from telling his story but here is some interesting reading with information from his British citizenship application. It will be interesting to see how Howard deals with this one.

My life has been completely nuts for the last few weeks with fires all over the place in South Australia. Unfortunately it has been even worse in many other states as the country burns.

I am a rather untalented photographer with no skill, some luck and an amazing work place so here are a few pics of recent fires. Larger versions and more photos can be found via pcuse.com/gallery.

Hi folks,

It has been a very interesting and hectic start to the fire season across the country. I have played a small part by helping out at the following major fires and a whole stack of smaller ones.

Kangaroo Island around Gosse in the Flinders Chase National Park (photos in http://pcuse.com/gallery)

Scott Creek

Humbug Scrub (based at One Tree Hill)

Gums Lagoon (based in Keith and photos at http://pcuse.com/gallery)

Bookmark fire (based at Waikerie in the riverland, photos up in the gallery tomorrow)
We have another fire ban day tomorrow and they are already looking for crews to go away. It should be an interesting week.

Hi all, I am sure you are aware that I have been a little nuts recently over the US mid-term elections. This has been for several reasons none more important than the Republicans have been steering the entire world further right into crazyville. Well, I have unfortunately been working flat out since you US folk did such an amazing job, so here is my thanks to you from a simple Australian.

Wow, thanks America. I am stunned and amazed at what you have done :)

The clean sweep of Congress, along with Rummy taking a fall is more than I could have dreamed of. Nice work :)
