I really enjoy fly fishing and fly tying. Here are a few patterns that I created or just tied.

Baited Bream
Crustacean Saltwater
Hook : Mustad 34007 size 4-8 (size 8).
Thread : Danvilles flat waxed nylon (olive).
Eyes : Bead chain (small).
Body : Chenille.
Head : Thread.
Tail : Marabou (olive over read).
Baited Bream
Tying Instructions
1) Tie on, I prefer to lay on a good foundation of thread for grip and strength.
2) Build up just back from the eye of the hook (for the bead chain eyes).
3) Tie on the bead chain.
4) Work back to bend of the hook and tie in olive marabou, then tie a small amount of red on top.
5) Attach chenille and wrap forward to the eye.
6) Tie off and lock.
7) Apply head cement and go fishing.
Fly Notes
Fishing Notes
Target species is Bream.
Sinking line, short straight leader (I usually use 8 pound mono).
Location Notes
Works well fished near the bottom in estuaries.
Prey Notes
Attractor pattern.

Olive Wooly Worm
Other Freshwater
Hook : Short shank, up eye, size 10+.
Thread : Danville’s flat waxed nylon, olive.
Body : Chenille over fly line.
Head : Thread.
Tail : Red wool.
Hackle : Grizzly.
Olive Wooly Worm
Tying Instructions
1) Tie on thread.
2) Tie on some roughened supple fly line and some red wool.
3) Use a second vice to keep the line and wool tight and tie on some olive chenille, work this back to the end of the fly line, leaving about 1cm of wool uncovered.
4) Tie on 1 or 2 grizzly hackles at the tail and wind them all the way onto the hook.
5) Tie off the hackle and build up a small tapering head.
6) Lock and Finnish the head.
Fishing Notes
Target species are Carp, Trout.

Epoxy Deceiver
Baitfish Saltwater
Hook : Mustad 34007 6-huge (2/0).
Thread : Danvilles flat waxed nylon (white).
Eyes : Diamantes (small coloured faceted glass-from craft shops - blue).
Head : Epoxy covering over the eyes.
Tail : Four saddle feathers (white) & one grizzly four strands of krystal flash on each side.
Body : Small amounts of bucktail placed under to the sides
over the tail (grey), dark bucktail over to contrast (blue), a small bib to represent gills (red rabbit fur).
Epoxy Deceiver
Tying Instructions
1) lay down a good bed of thread and stop at the bend.
2) tie in four saddle hackles and one grizzly saddle hackles on each side.
3) tie in four strands of krystal flash on each side.
4) work the thread forward and tie in lightly coloured bucktail under, around, and on top of the feathers.
5) tie in a larger amount of darker bucktail on top to provide a contrast.
6) attach a small amount of red material (I use rabbit) under the body to represent the gills.
7) build up a reasonable sized head and tie off.
8) glue a diamante to each side of the head.
9) prepare a small amount of clear epoxy and apply over the eyes. carefully build up the epoxy until it completely covers the eyes, and shape the head - this involves spending five minutes of trying to defeat gravity, unless you have a drier.
Fishing Notes
If the deceiver is tied lightly then casting is easy, while providing greater action.
Prey Notes
Baitfish pattern.

Seaducer
Other Saltwater
Hook : Mustad 34007 No.4 - 2/0.
Thread : Danvilles flat waxed nylon.
Head : Thread.
Tail : Splayed hackle feathers, crystal flash.
Hackle : 4 - 6 hackles, same as tail.
Seaducer
Tying Instructions
1) Tie in thread at end at back third of hook.
2) Tie in 4 saddle hackles on each side of hook, so that they curve outwards.
3) Add small amount (I use 4) strands of crystal flash to both sides.
4) Tie in two hackles, tie these in thickly and then add two more- continue until hackles reach.
5) Tie off hackles at area near head, then tie off and lock.
6) Apply head cement.
Fly Notes
Fly has a large hackle and a huge surface area which provides a dead drift to very shallow sink.
Fishing Notes
Salmon, snook, flathead. I imagine that it would be great for saratoga, barramundi, tarpon.
Fly may float initially, works well once wet.
Location Notes
Excellent fly for shallow water work.
Prey Notes
Baitfish or prawn depending on colours of fly.
